Great news for MS-CIT Centres!

1.      The Minorities Development Department of Maharashtra Government has announced a ‘Fee Reimbursement’ Scheme for students from minority communities admitted in any of the 27 listed Employment-Oriented Short-Term Training Programmes. The MS-CIT course is one of them.

2.     This is great news not only for students from minority communities but also for MS-CIT Centres throughout Maharashtra. This is how the centres can benefit from this scheme:

i.          Inform minority community students who have already completed this course anytime between April 1, 2009 and today that they can apply under the scheme for ‘Fee Re-imbursement’ that they have already paid to you for the course. You will thus build goodwill with your ex-students and their families.

ii.         Inform minority community students currently admitted at your Centres that they can apply for ‘Fee Re-imbursement’.

iii.        Inform minority community students that if they enrol now (before the last date - February 18, 2010) they too can apply for ‘Fee Re-imbursement’ and there is a good chance they will get the sanction.

iv.        This scheme is to continue in the next year too. If there is a good response, the total number of scholarships can be increased substantially from this year’s 5,000 to benefit many, many more students. Thus, what is good news for minority students is good news for your Centre too.

Remember, there is no age limit for eligibility. Someone who has passed SSC/HSC many years back is also eligible to apply. The only age limit will be the age limit, if any, prescribed for admission to the MS-CIT course.

Please note that while you can go to the official Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), www.dte.org.in for the same information, you can get everything you need to know from this website itself: GR, notification, application forms, declaration forms, posters (in English and Urdu) which you can print out for publicity of the scheme.
